Groomer seminar on January 28th, 2023 in our house.

What a wonderfull weekend...

Grooming seminar in the house of the kennel "Vom Ochtenender Land".
My wife and I have had the idea for a long time to hold a groomer seminar for interested puppy owners from our litters. In the summer of 2022, this idea was then planned and the owners of 7 Kerrys took part in this seminar on January 28th, 2023. The eighth participant had to withdraw due to illness. We took over all the planning for this and carried out the care day in our double garage. Families came from Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg and Hesse. We also had overnight guests due to the long journey. The seminar was led by Doris Kapferer from Kreuzlingen, Switzerland. Doris is not only a very experienced groomer, she owns her own grooming business with several employees, she successfully trains future dog groomers and groomers, she has also been a member of the QV dog groomer commission of the Swiss Association for Education in Animal Care SVBT since 2009. Since 2017 she has been an international judge for the European Grooming Association EGA. In addition to many podium places at home and abroad, she won 5 times Swiss Champion of dog groomers, Best in Show in Erfurt 2016 Kerry Blue Terrier, Best Makeover Sunday Groomania Belgium Standard Poodle, Best in Show Bromberg Poland 2019 Standard Poodle. Since 2012, Doris has been successfully breeding Kerry Blue Terriers, Standard and Miniature Poodles and has exhibited her dogs very successfully at shows. The content of the seminar was the "Care of the Kerry Blue Terrier" (fur structure, correct washing and blow-drying, clipping of claws, ear care, tartar removal, etc .). The necessary "tools and their correct use" (shampoos, conditioners, cutting scissors, thinning scissors, modeling scissors, clippers, brushes, combs, hair dryers etc.) and of course the correct cutting/trimming of the Kerry with a utility cut for everyday use and the perfect cut for the exhibition. Doris was able to align and convey her knowledge to the different abilities of the participants and everyone was fully involved. A hearty lunch with coffee and cake made the day a complete success. At the end many photos were taken. There was a large present basket for Doris and a certificate of participation plus a chic rosette for the participants. We sat together on two evenings and talked about the Kerrys and got to know each other better. There was a lot of laughter and everyone agreed that it wasn't the last time we did such a great campaign together for the benefit of this wonderful breed.
